John Helland

John joined the board after retiring from Minnesota House Research, where he worked as an environmental legislative analyst for over 30 years.  He is currently working on a video of the late Representative Willard Munger, the strongest environmental voice in the state legislature for decades. In 2007, Conservation Minnesota presented Helland with their coveted Leadership Award.  He presently serves on CM's advisory board, and blogs regularly for them.  In 2011, Helland completed a legislative history summary of the Legacy Conservation Act, and had a chapter on state water policy issues published in a book by Resources For the Future.
