MCEA in Ely, Tues. July 31 2018 @ the Grand Ely Lodge and Northern Grounds
MCEA staff traveled to Ely to join our supporters in a conversation around current environmental issues in Minnesota. We thank all those who were able to join us for this needed and timely dialogue as we discussed MCEA's latest work on the proposed PolyMet mine, as well as how we're helping combat the effects of climate change on the BWCA Wilderness.

Long-time supporters of the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy were one of the first to see our new office headquarters at 1919 University Ave W. They joined us to learn about how our new space better reflects our environmental values while expanding our ability to collaborate internally and connect with stakeholders across the state.

RegenerateMN: Maximize Your Impact at the Minnesota State Capitol,
Sat. February 10 2018 @ the Minnesota State Capitol
RegenerateMN, a program of the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy, met for an afternoon to tour the Capitol building and hear from legislators and advocates about how to maximize their impact and influence decision makers. We also met at Rival House for a post-event social to continue conversations relating back to the insights our panelists shared. Our panelists included Senator John Marty, Senator Jim Abeler, Senator Sandra Pappas, Patricia Nauman (Executive Director of Metro Cities), Molly Pederson (former Senior Policy Advisor for Governor Mark Dayton, and Senator Scott Dibble.

Legally Green: Stand Up for Science, Thur. Oct 26 2017 @ University of St. Thomas
Thank you to all of those who attended this year's Legally Green gala. Because of your generous support, we set new records with over 350 attendees and over $200,000 in pledged support for MCEA! We are so grateful to be a part of this community of people who understand the importance of science for protecting clean air and water for the next generation.

Over fifty MCEA staff members, board members, committee members, and long-time supporters joined us to recognize those who have shown by their actions their strong commitment to our shared environmental values. At the event we honored Sen. Chris Eaton & Rep. Alice Hausman (Paddling Upstream Award), Sen. Eric Simonson & Rep. Jamie Becker-Finn (Trailblazer Award), and Great Gauthier, Legislative Director for the MN Pollution Control Agency (Environmental Envoy Award).

MCEA offers a huge thank you to longtime supporters Bob Nesheim and Marlys Johnson for hosting the event at their bed and breakfast, The Pincushion Trails Inn!

RegenerateMN: Transportation Trending, Tues. July 25 2017 @ Bad Weather Brewing Co.
RegenerateMN, an MCEA initiative to engage our state's next generation of environmental leaders, hosted an event about the future of transportation policy in Minnesota and how we can better to prepare for it. Our panelists (Frank Douma, Larry Herke, and Leili Fatehhi) discussed the near- and long-term prospects for autonomous vehicles, including their potential to increase equity and decrease pollution from transportation. Our moderator, MCEA's Land Use & Transportation Director Jim Erkel, also provided context on transportation planning in Minnesota, including everything down to the bike lanes people used to get to the event. Lastly, attendees were able to check out a variety of electric vehicles, including one of the new Chevy Bolts!
