Leigh Currie, Energy Program Director
Leigh joined MCEA in 2014 as Staff Attorney working primarily in the area of energy law. Leigh regularly appears at the Public Utilities Commission to advocate for economic solutions to fight climate change.
After graduating with honors from William Mitchell College of Law in 2006, Leigh practiced environmental law at Stinson Leonard Street, clerked for the honorable Jill Flaskamp Halbrooks at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and taught legal writing at William Mitchell. In addition to her law degree, Leigh has a B.S. in Environmental Science and Biology from Tufts University and an M.S. in Conservation Biology from the University of Minnesota.
Prior to her legal career, Leigh led wilderness trips to the Boundary Waters, Montana, Wyoming, Alaska, and the Canadian Arctic and continues to enjoy the outdoors with her family.
