Louise Segroves, Natural Resources Scientist
Louise joined MCEA in 2015 as natural resources scientist. Louise provides support to the MCEA team on a wide variety of natural resource issues and advocates for policy solutions that are supported by sound science.
She earned her B.A. from Carleton College with a double major in Geology and Economics in 2005. She then went on to receive a MS in Geosciences from Penn State in 2007. From 2007 to 2015 Louise worked at Barr Engineering Company as an environmental review and permitting specialist where she developed a broad range of experience with environmental review in the power and fuel industries, with particular expertise in Minnesota’s Power Plant Siting Act and transmission line corridor review and permitting.
Louise is passionate about energy policy and climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. She enjoys running, spending time in the remote outdoors, and handcrafts of all kinds.
