MCEA GIS Maps
A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a map-based information management software package. GIS provides the capability to collect, edit, manage, analyze, and share critical location-based information. Spatial information is ‘layered’ in a GIS to create a comprehensive illustration of a feature's location, geographic patterns, and environmental relationships. GIS is an integral part of the decision-support infrastructure that contributes to the success of MCEA’s environmental policy and legal action initiatives.
