Northeastern Minnesota Program Director:
The Northeastern Minnesota Program Director will oversee MCEA’s Northeastern Minnesota program, which includes protecting the region’s communities and natural resources from poorly designed sulfide mines. This person will be responsible for creating and communicating a broad vision for how to continue to drive this work forward. This person will need to be able to identify and manage the execution of projects that are consistent with MCEA organizational goals. The Program Director will develop and manage a program budget, build and deepen important external relationships including with diverse communities, clients, coalition partners and funders. This person will help to create a diverse and inclusive workplace that values differences and provide leadership to other MCEA staff.

Staff Attorney:
MCEA, the state’s leading public-interest environmental law firm, seeks an attorney with at least five years of experience to join our team of powerful, mission-driven, in-house litigators. The Staff Attorney will litigate in state and federal courts and administrative agencies and provide legal advice to MCEA and other clients. In addition to litigation, the Staff Attorney will assist with legislative and administrative advocacy, coordinate with outside pro bono counsel, law clerks, concerned citizens, and other advocacy organizations, work with the Legal Committee of MCEA’s Board, and provide assistance to MCEA’s leadership, development staff, and communications team.

MCEA IS ACCEPTING REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS: CONTRACT LOBBYIST
MCEA is accepting proposals to contract with an individual, law firm, or public affairs firm to help manage the legislative agenda during the 2027 session. The contractor will report to the Legislative Director but will also communicate directly with Program Directors, Impact Officer, and Executive Director.
