My connection to the environment is shaped by Itasca camping, Duluth ski trips, and long, beautiful days spent in cold, cold deer stands. Many live with a harsher view. Unhealthy air. Polluted water. A deteriorating climate. At its best, Minnesota’s extraordinary natural environments inspire awe. But unequally shared environmental risks create an enormous human toll. Those who bear this burden know it best, and at MCEA I get to lend legal weight to community voices that are leading the charge for a greener and healthier Minnesota. It's a wonderful job.

Luke has a B.A. in Political Science from Carleton College. He received his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where Luke worked in experiential clinics to prevent offshore oil drilling and help the Pit River Tribe protect its land from extractive industries. Luke interned at the Environmental and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice before receiving the two-year Skadden Fellowship to pursue work in environmental justice at MCEA.
