Joy Anderson, Senior Staff Attorney
Joy joined MCEA in 2020 as a Senior Staff Attorney.
Previously, she was a shareholder at Gray Plant Mooty, where she worked as a litigator on commercial and environmental cases and headed the firm's pro bono program. While at the firm, Joy provided more than 100 hours of pro bono service each year through organizations including Volunteer Lawyers Network (where she serves on the board of directors) and The Advocates for Human Rights. She has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, a North Star Lawyer by the Minnesota State Bar Association, and a 2018 Minnesota Attorney of the Year by Minnesota Lawyer magazine. Joy earned her law degree, summa cum laude, at William Mitchell College of Law, and her B.A. in English and print journalism from the University of St. Thomas. Before going to law school, she worked as a reporter for a daily newspaper in Fargo, N.D.
